As Alpha Xi Deltas, our social chairs plan many external events for members to attend. There are events are called "exchanges" and happen on a weekly basis with other fraternities or RSOs on campus. Exchanges are always themed, inspiring girls to use their creativity when planning their outfits. Some past themes include “Dynamic Duos", “Dress Your Roommate” or “Mathletes and Athletes". These events take place at venues on campus and sometimes off campus as well!
Most girls find that exchanges are their motivation to complete their work in advance. These events are a great way to spend time with your sisters while meeting other members of the greek community!
The Kappa Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta has two types of Internal socials that are planned by our internal social chairs, different from our external social chairs. Internal social events consist of Alpha Xi Delta events and date events. Alpha Xi Delta events consist of Mom's Weekend, Dad's Weekend and Homecoming. On any of these given events, you can find parents, alumni and active members enjoying great food and quality time together. Specifically on Mom's weekend, there are often A Capella groups joining us for entertainment, for Dad's weekend there is an annual bags tournament. During all three of these weekends, active members get to share their college experience and Alpha Xi Delta with their families.
Date events are some of the sisters' most beloved events. With two each semester, girls get a chance to choose their date to enjoy a night out with! In both the fall and the spring, Barndance is the most popular event. Barndance is a time for girls to enjoy a night in a hay-filled barn while listening to country music and enjoying a bonfire.
The second date event of the semester is a Semi-Formal. This is a formal attire date event that allows girls to enjoy a night of dancing in their favorite dress at an upscale, off campus venue.
All types of social events are a chance for Alpha Xi Deltas to celebrate the hard work that each member consistently puts in through out the week. We are incredibly proud of the women in our chapter, who they are becoming and who they have become. To show our appreciation, we plan events that they enjoy and can look forward too!
